Coudelaria Ilha Verde will host the 11th International Luso-Brasileiro Auction on Saturday, May 10, 2008
São Paulo, Brazil: March 19, 2008 – On behalf of HMVO Participações e Empreendimentos S/C Ltda, Victor Oliva is delighted to announce that his 11th International Luso-Brasileiro Auction will take place at Coudelaria Ilha Verde during the afternoon of Saturday, May 10, 2008.
Couldelaria Ilha Verde is located in Araçoiaba da Serra, close to the city of Sorocaba, and this popular annual event has become a highlight of the fall equestrian season in São Paulo. Typically, it attracts a capacity crowd of over 1,000 enthusiastic fans, including many foreign buyers of Lusitano horses. This represents a 40 percent growth in attendance since the first auction was organized in 1998
Victor Oliva, proprietor of Ilha Verde, confirms that the quality of horses has also improved exponentially over the years: “The high quality and functionality of our horses is now very well established, and we also offer good veterinary safeguards as well as well-known and popular ancestral pedigrees. The success of our exports has also generated more and more international interest.”
For example: Pensamento dos Filhos do Vento became a dressage Grand Prix winner, while Urbe VO won the morphology national championship hosted by the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association after both had been exported to the USA*.
This year, the auction catalogue features 32 lots encompassing a wide range of ages, levels of training, qualities for chosen disciplines, broodmares with foals, as well as a perfectly matched pair of driving horses, both by Icaro. Additionally, breeders will be able to bid for covering services from a “star” stallion – the six-year-old Violino (Ofensor x Querida), a Lisbon champion who will be under the spotlight.
Among the special horses that have already been inscribed prospective buyers will find: Africa VO (Sol VO x Montera) a stunning black, three-and-a-half-year-old mare with exceptional dressage potential, and Amuleto VO, the same age and a very handsome palomino son of Donaire (Qiuomono x Garota) with an outstandingly silver mane and tail. Additionally, the bay Navarro AJR, a 13-year-old stallion son of Idolo (out of Varina), imported from Portugal, who holds two Working Equitation world championship titles, and is a double Brazilian national champion.
According to Victor Oliva, “The main objective of our auction is to bring the best horses into the marketplace and offer an exceptional service to buyers.”
As usual, all the atmosphere of this exciting auction as well as interviews with key players will be captured and broadcast on cable and satellite TV networks by Canal Rural.
DVD requests, reservations, bids and preregistrations can be processed via the Coudelaria Ilha Verde website: www.cavalolusitano.com.br
